New Chapter Of 'Rail Kranti' In Jharkhand Starts Today: PM Modi At Sindri Rally

PM Modi arrived in Sindri at around 11 am. He participated in a public event to kick off, dedicate, and lay the groundwork for several development projects.

PM Modi In Jharkhand: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that a new chapter of "rail kranti" has started in Jharkhand as he dedicated and laid the foundation stone of several rail projects worth more than Rs 17,600 crore in the state.

Listing the achievements of his government in the past ten years, PM Modi said: "Our government has worked in the direction of the welfare of the people in Jharkhand. From women, tribals, Dalits, and people of all communities, our government has worked to connect the state with the mainstream in the past 10 years."

"Today the Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd (HURL) Sindri Fertiliser Plant has been inaugurated. I took a resolution to revive this plant. This was Modi's guarantee. In 2018, I came here to lay the foundation stone of this plant. This will provide thousands of opportunities for employment. This is a huge step toward 'Atma Nirbharta'," he added further.

"Every year, around 360 lakh metric tonnes of urea is required in India. In 2014, 225 lakh mt of urea was produced. To fill this gap, India had to import urea. In the last 10 years, urea production has become 310 mt," PM Modi said at a rally in Jharkhand's Sindri.

We Have To Make Our Country Developed Before 2047: PM Modi

"We have to make our country 'Viksit' before 2047. India is among the fastest-moving economies in the world. India has performed better than all expectations. The economic growth rate for the quarter of Oct-Dec was 8.4%... For a 'Viksit Bharat', making Jharkhand a developed state is equally important," PM Modi said.

PM Modi arrived at Sindri, at around 11 AM. He then took part in a public event to launch, dedicate, and laid the groundwork for several development projects. PM Modi flagged off three new trains which are set to boost the state's railway sector.

PM Modi also inspected the resurrected Sindri fertilizer factory in the state, which is handled by Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Limited.

According to an official statement by PMO, this is the country's third fertilizer factory to be restarted, after Gorakhpur and Ramagundam.

Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Champai Soren, and Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya were also present at the ceremony.

He also dedicated the North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project in the state's Chatra district.

It is to be noted that PM Modi is visiting the state for the first time after Champai Soren took over as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Earlier last month, former state CM Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged land scam case.

The Prime Minister is slated to arrive to visit West Bengal on Friday afternoon. According to his schedule, PM Modi would stay at Kolkata's Raj Bhavan.

Later, he is scheduled to attend a public gathering in Arambagh, Hooghly district, and dedicate projects worth Rs 7,200 crore to the area.

He is scheduled to dedicate several infrastructure improvement projects at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata, totaling over Rs 1000 crore. According to the government statement, the new port projects will significantly increase production by allowing for faster and safer cargo processing and evacuation.

The other projects that are to be launched include major rail projects worth Rs 2680 crore.
