PM Modi To Visit Bihar Today, Will Launch Development Projects Worth Over Rs 34,800 Cr

Around 2.30 p.m., the Prime Minister will unveil numerous development projects totaling Rs 21,400 crore in Aurangabad.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate development projects worth over Rs 34,800 crore in Bihar on Saturday, news agency PTI reported. In addition, the PM will reveal different oil and gas projects worth around Rs 1.48 lakh crore distributed across various states from here, according to an official release. This will be Modi's first visit to Bihar since the BJP-led NDA received a boost with the return of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who leads the JD(U).

Around 2.30 p.m., the Prime Minister will unveil numerous development projects totaling Rs 21,400 crore in Aurangabad. He will next go to Begusarai to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects costing more than Rs 13,400, according to the release.

From Begusarai, he will launch oil and gas sector projects in Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Punjab, and Karnataka, as well as the KG Basin.

Modi will dedicate the 'first oil' from the KG Basin to the country and launch the first crude oil vessel from the ONGC Krishna Godavari deepwater project.

Officials claimed stringent security precautions had been undertaken in both areas ahead of the PM's arrival.

Both programmes are scheduled to be attended by NDA heavyweights, including the chief minister.

The BJP currently holds the Lok Sabha seats of Aurangabad and Begusarai.

In Aurangabad, Modi is going to unveil national highway projects worth more than Rs 18,000 crore. He will also lay the groundwork for a six-lane bridge across the Ganga, which would run parallel to the current JP Ganga Setu.

He will dedicate three railway projects to the nation, including tripling the Pataliputra-Pahleja line and building a 26-kilometer new line between Bandhua and Paimar.

The Prime Minister will also launch 12 projects worth more than 2,190 crore under the Namami Gange initiative. This includes wastewater treatment plants at Patna, Sonepur, Naugachia, and Chapra.

He will also lay the groundwork for Patna's Unity Mall, which would cost more than Rs 200 crore and will support the 'One District, One Product' initiative.

In Begusarai, the Prime Minister would dedicate to the country the resurrected Hindustan Urvarak Rasayan Limited (HURL) fertilizer factory in Barauni. It has been resurrected for a cost of Rs 9,500 crore. It will deliver urea to farmers at a reasonable cost.

He will also lay the groundwork for a Rs 11,400-crore expansion of the Barauni Refinery.
