PM Modi EXCLUSIVE: 'Nirav Modi, Mallya had to flee because of actions being taken by us'

ABP News asked PM Modi that “Fugitives like Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya, Mehul Chowksi fled from the nation in last 5 years, the nation is now raising questions at you regarding their extradition and even the opposition has been bringing up this issue repeatedly; how will you explain your side to the nation?”

New Delhi: In an exclusive interview with ABP News right ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about fugitives Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya, who have been accused of duping the nation and feeling out of the country. The preparations for Lok Sabha elections are underway and all political parties are busy in their respective political campaigns. But, amid the heated political scenario in the nation, reports floated that diamantaire Nirav Modi was spotted in London. Nirav Modi, who later arrested by London police, is currently locked up in prison. Speaking on the same, PM Modi said some important things on these fugitives. ABP News asked PM Modi that “Fugitives like Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya, Mehul Chowksi fled from the nation in last 5 years, the nation is now raising questions at you regarding their extradition and even the opposition has been bringing up this issue repeatedly; how will you explain your side to the nation?” We took up measures because of which these people fled: Modi Responding to the questions by ABP News journalists, PM Modi said “It is as a result of the measures taken by us that the fugitives had to land in jails of the countries where they fled; and because of us their properties are being seized.” PM further said “The nation runs on law and we are making full use of law; but it is to see why these people had to flee, because they were enjoying under Congress rule”. PM further said “These people have cheated us with so much money in a span of 10 years only, and not after we came to power. But, they didn’t know a government like this would come which would take an action against us, therefore they got scared after we came to power and fled.’
