'Modi Vs Who': Ravi Shankar Raises Big Question, Calls Oppn's Mega Meet A 'Selfish Alliance'

The opposition meeting will be held on June 23 in Patna with participation of galaxy of opposition leaders including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge among others.

BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Sunday lashed out at the opposition parties, mocking their efforts to form a coalition ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, news agency ANI reported. "Who will be their (opposition) PM face?... There is friction between them. This is an alliance of selfish people for power. Since they can't take on PM Modi alone, they are trying to do it together...India wants a fixed govt not a bunch of people who keep fighting with each other," he said.

Speaking on the opposition meeting scheduled to be held in Patna on June 23, the BJP MP stated: “They (Opposition) are fighting amongst themselves as this is an alliance between power-hungry and selfish people. They can meet and have food together, but neither Bihar will be swayed away, nor the country."

The mega opposition meeting will be held on June 23 in Patna with participation of galaxy of opposition leaders including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Earlier this month, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had predicted that the Lok Sabha elections would be held earlier than planned, claiming that the ruling BJP is concerned about his attempts to unify the Opposition.

“What I said was in jest, but the possibility cannot be ruled out. The current dispensation may feel that if our opposition unity bid gathered momentum, it would inflict on them bigger losses. So they could take recourse to early polls,” the Bihar Chief Minister stated.

Top leaders from various parties are scheduled to attend the upcoming meeting, including Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, Sharad Pawar, MK Stalin, Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, and Mehbooba Mufti.
