"Congress party needs to come to power by securing a majority to make DK Shivakumar or Siddaramaiah the CM. They can never become the CM as Congress will never be able to cross the majority mark, so there is no question of them becoming the CM," Pralhad Joshi said, as quoted by ANI.

Election notification will be issued on April 13, while the last date for filing nominations is April 20. The Congress has announced candidates for 166 out of total 224 seats, while JD(S) has announced one list of 93 candidates.
