'BJP Should Not Resort To Gambling': Omar Abdullah Takes Jibe As Congress-NC Leads In Early Trends

Omar Abdullah, ex-J&K CM, warned BJP against "gambling" as early poll trends showed the Congress-National Conference alliance ahead with 31 seats.

Former Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took a swipe at the Bharatiya Janata Party saying it should not resort to gambling as Congress-National Conference alliance maintained a significant lead in early trends. According to the Election Commission of India, the INDIA bloc is leading on 31 seats, followed by BJP on 18, and PDP on 2.

"We are hopeful of victory, rest is on God. Whatever the voters of J&K have decided will be clear by afternoon... If the mandate is against the BJP, it should not resort to gambling," Abdullah said on Tuesday.

People's Conference chief Sajad Gani Lone, who is leading from the Handwara seat, said "it is too early to say anything." "Let's wait till evening. We are confident, have worked hard, rest is on God," Lone said.
