Lok Sabha Elections: Congress Names Raj Babbar From Gurgaon Seat, Anand Sharma From Kagra
The Congress named Raj Babbar from Gurgaon in Haryana, Anand Sharma from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, Satpal Raizada from Hamirpur and Bhushan Patil from Mumbai North.

The Congress named Raj Babbar from Gurgaon in Haryana, Anand Sharma from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, Satpal Raizada from Hamirpur and Bhushan Patil from Mumbai North.

Satpal Raizada, a former MLA from Himachal Pradesh's Una who has been fielded by the Congress from the Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat in the state, will contest the general elections against BJP candidate and Union Minister Anurag Thakur.
This is the first Lok Sabha election that Anand Sharma will be contesting. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha for the first time in April 1984 and has been a member of the Upper House of Parliament for four terms. He has been a Union minister during the UPA government under Manmohan Singh and has also been a deputy leader of the Congress in the Rajya Sabha till he retired in 2022.
Sharma will contest against the BJP's Rajeev Bhardwaj, a former chairman of the Kangra Central Cooperative (KCC) Bank.
With the announcement of his candidates today, the Congress has revealed the names of all nine candidates it is contesting from Haryana, while the tenth Lok Sabha seat is being contested by the Aam Aadmi Party, a constituent party of I.N.D.I.A. alliance.
However, the Congress is yet to announce its candidate for Amethi and Rae Bareli seats. Amethi goes to polls on May 20 in the fifth round of the seven-phase general elections. Only three days are left for the filing of nomination papers but the Congress is yet to declare a candidate for the seat.
