Assembly Polls 2023: Election Seizure Management System To Be Used For First Time. What Is It?

The Election Commission of India announced on Monday that the Election Seizure Management System is being introduced for five assembly polls to enhance oversight for inducement-free elections. This is the first time that it is going to be used. Election Seizure Management System is a tech platform for real-time updates on seizures from the field by multifarious state and central enforcement agencies. This system aims to ensure seamless coordination and intelligence sharing amongst enforcement agencies. 

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday announced the dates for polling the election of the legislative assembly of five states -- Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. The top poll body held a press conference to give a brief about the preparations that will be undertaken in order to ensure fair and smooth conduct of the election process and the dates when voters will exercise their franchise in these five states. 

The model code of conduct (MCC) came into effect as soon as the announcement of the dates was made. 

The voting for Rajasthan Assembly elections 2023 will be held on November 23 and votes will be counted on December 3. The election will be held in a single phase.

As per the ECI's announcement, the elections in Telangana will be held in one phase on November 30. The counting of votes will be held on December 3

Polling in Madhya Pradesh will take place in a single phase on November 17. The counting of votes will kick off on December 3.

The voting for Chhattisgarh Assembly elections 2023 will be held in a two-phase manner, on November 7 and on November 17. The counting of the votes will begin on December 3.

The polling in Mizoram will be held on November 7 and the votes will be counted on December 3. 

The entire polling schedule for all five states will be completed on December 5.
