Man Arrested While Trying To Enter Home Ministry Office With Fake ID

The Delhi Police has arrested a man for allegedly trying to enter the Home Minister office in North Block with a fake identity card.

The Delhi Police has arrested a man for allegedly trying to enter the Home Minister office in North Block with a fake identity card. The police are probing the case and so far no terror angle has been found.

The accused have been identified as Aditya Pratap Singh and as per latest information, he was entering the premises with the intention of defrauding someone.

This comes a few months after the security breach at Parliament during the winter session when unknown men jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber with gan cannisters. The duo leapted across benches as they shouted slogans against the government until they were intercepted by the parliamentarians and handed over to the police.

The case is being heard by a Delhi court and recently five of the six accused alleged they were being tortured with electric shocks by the Delhi Police to accept their ties with opposition parties. The submission was made befire the Additional Sessions Judge Hardeep Kaur.

The judicial custody of the accused has been extended  till March 1.

The five accused who made the allegations against the Delhi Police were Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Lalit Jha, Amol Shinde and Mahesh Kumawat. They told the court that they were forced to sign about 70-odd blank papers. Taking note of the claims, the court has sought a reply from Delhi Police.

The case will be heard again by the bench on February 17.

The incident took place on December 13, 2023, on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack. The recent attack triggered a massive security scare among the parliamentarians and the Opposition questioned PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the matter, raising concerns about safety and security.
