Delhi's Indian School Evacuated After Bomb Threat, Police Call It 'Hoax'

Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad was informed, said the Delhi Police and the school authorities have asked parents to take their ward home amid commotion.

Indian School in Delhi's Sadiq Nagar was vacated after an e-mail containing a bomb threat was received, said the Delhi Police adding that Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad was informed. Meanwhile, the school authorities have asked parents to take their ward home amid the commotion. As per ABP News sources, an e-mail was received by the school at around 10:49 am after which a person named Brajesh from the school administration called up the police to inform.

The bomb squad was conducting checks inside the school premises and a Special Weapon and Tactics Team (SWAT) has reached the school.

"Bomb and dog squads have gone inside the school," a guardian of a student of the school was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Deputy Commissioner of Police South Chandan Choudhary said that threat was "most likely a hoax".

This is the second time that the school has received a bomb threat. Earlier in November 2022, the school had received a similar e-mail stating that an explosive was planted in the school premises. The bomb and dog squad were called and the school was evacuated.

However, nothing was recovered the officer believed that someone had pulled a prank.

Earlier in September, the Spring Dale School in Amritsar received a bomb threat on social media, prompting school officials to file a police report. The threat occurred four days after a similar threat was issued to DAV Public School, which was eventually revealed to be a joke perpetrated by three school students.

On the evening of September 12, a message on social media stated that there will be a blast at Spring Dale School on September 16.
