New Delhi: Delhi woke up to a foggy morning on Tuesday with visibility dropping to concerning levels across the Delhi-NCR region. However, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was reported to be moderate at 193. The AQI at the Delhi airport too was moderate at 180, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) reported news agency ANI.

Earlier, the Indira Gandhi International airport issued a fog alert for passengers. However, the latest alerts stated that all airport flight operations are presently normal while low visibility procedures are in progress at the airport. The airport also advised passengers to contact their respective airlines for updates.

In another update, the airport stated that smooth movement of passengers has been observed at all terminals' entry gates with an estimated waiting time of one to 10 minutes.

The airport authorities have also advised passengers to travel with only one hand baggage as cabin luggage for a smooth check-in experience, reported ANI.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast strong winds during the daytime. The minimum temperature is likely to settle around 9 degrees Celsius while the maximum will hover around 22 degrees.
On Monday, the maximum temperature in Delhi was 18.9 degrees Celsius. The national capital received a wet spell on Sunday night resulting in a dip in temperature. The IMD stated that a powerful Western Disturbance is sweeping over Afghanistan and the surrounding region.
