Delhi Salon Shooting: Attackers Identified, Targeted Victims Over Social Media Post — Report

The horrible assault occurred at Indira Park in Najafgarh on Friday when Ashish and Sonu were getting haircuts at the salon.

A day following the shocking incident in which two men, identified as Sonu and Ashish, were fatally shot inside a salon in southwest Delhi's Najafgarh, the police have managed to identify the attackers. Official sources revealed that the assailants, suspected to have engaged in a dispute with the victims over a social media post, have been identified as Sanjeev Dahiya alias Sanju and Harsh alias Chintu, as reported by news agency PTI.

The fatal shooting occurred at Indira Park in Najafgarh on Friday when Ashish and Sonu visited the salon for a haircut. Purported CCTV footage circulating on social media captured one of the victims pleading with the attackers before being shot at point-blank range. The distressing video also showed two female salon staff fleeing in terror.

Police officials confirmed that Sonu sustained a single gunshot wound to the head, while Ashish was shot three times in the head and once in the chest. It was also disclosed by the police that Ashish had a history of involvement in two criminal cases. Both victims hailed from Nagli Sakrawati in the Najafgarh area news agency PTI reported.

According to PTI, A police official stated that this prima facie appears to be a case of personal enmity triggered by an abusive social media post. However, the precise motive behind the violent confrontation will be determined once the suspects are apprehended.

As per the information by PTI sources, Dahiya is purportedly a lawyer practicing in a Delhi court, this information is yet to be verified. Harsh, also known as Chintu, is the sibling of Yogesh Tunda, a notorious gangster currently incarcerated, and was recently released on bail.

Authorities have deployed multiple teams comprising local police and the crime branch to track down the suspects. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh assured that the teams are working very hard to nab the accused. "Certain things will be clear once the accused are arrested," he also added.
