Viral Video: BJP MLA GS Dharmesh, Ex-Minister Ram Babu Harit Scuffle During Funeral Procession In Agra

A physical altercation ensued between BJP leaders GS Dharmesh and Ram Babu Harit during a funeral procession in Agra. The incident was sparked by a request from Dharmesh to Harit to move aside.

A video has surfaced from Uttar Pradesh's Agra showing a heated altercation between two BJP leaders that escalated into a physical scuffle. The incident occurred during the funeral procession of 94-year-old Loktantra Rakshak Senani Chiranjilal Kushwaha on Tuesday morning, leading to a dramatic confrontation between BJP MLA GS Dharmesh and former Uttar Pradesh SC/ST Commission Chairman Dr Ram Babu Harit.

For the uninitiated, Loktantra Rakshak Senani are those who were imprisoned under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) during the Emergency period, from 1975 to 1977, imposed by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The widely circulated footage shows the two leaders pushing each other before security personnel intervened to separate them. The altercation reportedly began when GS Dharmesh asked Ram Babu Harit to move aside during the procession in Arjun Nagar. As per eyewitnesses, Harit was walking ahead while recording the event on his phone when Dharmesh approached him and made the request, triggering a heated exchange.

In the viral video, Dharmesh can be seen extending his hand towards Harit while speaking, following which the situation escalated into a scuffle. Amid the pushing, Harit’s mobile phone fell to the ground but was quickly retrieved by one of his supporters.

The altercation has sparked debate over the conduct of political leaders in public. The incident also led to tensions as Dharmesh’s supporters later approached the Shahganj police station, according to Navbharat Times.

The incident has drawn sharp reactions on social media, with many questioning whether such behaviour is appropriate for public figures.
