Uttarakhand Panchayat Elections Dates Announced: Voting To Be Held In Two Phases

The Election Commission has announced the detailed schedule for the Panchayat elections in Uttarakhand. The Panchayat elections across the state will be held in two phases, where voting will take place for the posts of Gram Pradhan, Gram Panchayat members, Kshetra Panchayat members, and Zila Panchayat members.
A total of 74,499 Gram Pradhans, 55,600 Gram Panchayat members, 2,974 Kshetra Panchayat members, and 358 Zila Panchayat members will be elected this time.
According to the election schedule, the District Election Officer will issue a detailed notification on June 23. After this, nomination papers can be filed from June 25 to June 28. The process of scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed from June 29 to July 1, while July 2 will be the last date for the withdrawal of names.
The symbol allocation for the first phase will be done on July 3, and the voting will be held on July 10. Whereas, symbols for the second phase will be allocated on July 8, and voting will be held on July 15. Counting of both phases will be done on July 18.
Model Code Of Conduct Implemented In Uttarakhand
The State Election Commissioner said that preparations for the Panchayat elections are being done on a war footing. Strict guidelines have been given to the district administration to conduct fair and transparent elections. The Model Code of Conduct has also been implemented so that the election process is not affected.
Candidates participating in the elections have been asked to follow the dates and complete their nominations and other processes on time. The Election Commission has also activated the monitoring mechanism to maintain transparency.
With this announcement by the State Election Commission, the bugle for the Panchayat elections has been sounded in the state and political activities have intensified in the villages. Candidates have started making strategies to get the key to power at the Panchayat level.
