Noida Builder Cancels Flat Booking, Holds Buyer Hostage After Taking Rs 12 Lakh

A resident of Sector 16B in Greater Noida West alleged that his father booked a flat in 2021 in a project by BS Builders by paying Rs 12.98 lakh via cheque.

Noida News: A builder developing a residential project in Greater Noida West has been booked for allegedly defrauding an investor by cancelling a flat despite receiving a large sum as advance payment.

The complainant also claimed that the builder failed to sign the buyer's agreement. Acting on court orders, the Bisrakh police have registered an FIR against five individuals, including a director of the builder firm.

Noida Flat Was Booked In 2021

Deepak Sharma, a resident of Sector 16B in Greater Noida West, alleged that his father booked a flat in 2021 in a project by BS Builders by paying Rs 12.98 lakh via cheque. Though the complainant’s side signed the buyer's agreement, the builder allegedly did not sign it. Later, the family was shocked to discover that the flat had been cancelled without notice.

According to the complaint filed at Bisrakh Police Station, the accused, identified as Rakesh Ranjan, Abhishek Jaiswal, Vishal, Shashank, and others, took Rs 12.98 lakh from the complainant under the pretext of selling a flat, but never delivered on the promise. The police said Deepak Sharma reported that the group committed fraud and misappropriated the amount.

Buyers Held Hostage In Noida

In a shocking twist, Deepak further alleged that when he and his father confronted the builder, they were held hostage and physically assaulted. After they informed the police, they were released, but no immediate action was taken against the builder.

Left with no option, the victim approached the court. Following court directions, police have now launched an investigation. The Bisrakh police station in-charge confirmed that a detailed inquiry is underway and strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.
