Mumbai Police Releases Woman Day After Arresting For Sending Death Threat To UP CM Yogi Adityanath

The incident began when the Mumbai traffic police received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number on Saturday.

Mumbai police have released a 24-year-old woman, arrested for allegedly issuing a death threat to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, after an interrogation, an official stated on Monday.

According to a report by news agency PTI, the woman identified as Fatima Khan is an IT graduate residing with her family in Ulhasnagar, Thane district. She was arrested in a joint operation involving the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and local police.

After being brought to Mumbai for questioning, Khan was issued a notice and subsequently released on Sunday, the official confirmed. As per the police, Fatima is well-qualified but suffers from mental health issues. Her father engaged in the timber business.

Mumbai Traffic Police Receive Whatsapp Message

The incident began when the Mumbai traffic police received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number on Saturday. In the message, the warning was issued that if Adityanath did not step down as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister within 10 days, he would face the same fate as NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was recently shot dead.

NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was shot dead in Mumbai near his son Zeeshan Siddiqui’s MLA office. Three attackers carried out the shooting, and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility.

Upon investigation, police traced the message back to Khan, who was then arrested from Ulhasnagar through a joint effort by the ATS and police. Security measures have been increased as Adityanath is scheduled to visit Maharashtra to campaign for the November 20 assembly elections.

In 2024, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has received many death threats. The UP Police have arrested several dangerous smugglers from various locations. Threats have been made against him repeatedly through Facebook, X, and direct messages to the police.

Several arrests have been made in Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, and Bihar related to death threats against CM Yogi Adityanath, given using social media.
