Monsoon Reaches Bengaluru, IMD Predicts Rainfall For Next Three Days

Monsoon reaches Bengaluru, and IMD has now predicted a rainfall in the region for the next three days. Read below for details.

The monsoon has reached Bengaluru, and it continues to advance in some parts of the Arabian Sea. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall for the next three days in the region.

"Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maharashtra including Mumbai, Karnataka including Bengaluru, , remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, some parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, some more parts of westcentral & North Bay of Bengal, Remaining parts of Mizoram, entire Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, today the 26th May," read the official update of IMD on X.

The news comes in as a huge relief, as the IMD forecasts that the monsoon is favourable. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, and many other states are experiencing heavy rainfall. As for Bengaluru, the next three days will be filled with gusty winds, thunderstorms, and heavy rainfall, which could lead to potential risk of flooding in some parts of the city.

For these reasons, the IMD have issued a red alert for Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Kodagu.

According to IMD, Bengaluru, in the month of May, has so far received a cumulative rainfall of 307.9 mm, bettering their previous record of 305.4 mm set in May 2023.
