Teen Among Four Killed As Trucks Hits Two Cars On Kisan Path In Lucknow

In Lucknow, four people were killed including a 17-year-old, in a late-night road accident involving three vehicles.

After an accident between three vehicles, four people including a teen were killed and seven were injured in the Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, late at night on Thursday. A truck crashed into two cars on the Kisan Path, near the Indira Canal.

The incident took place in the BBD police station area, as per a PTI report.

The truck hit the SUV from behind and a van rammed into it. Four people, including three travelling in the van and one in the SUV. Eleven people were immediately rushed to the hospital, of which four died during treatment while seven were said to be grievously injured in the Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences.

Visuals of the accident showed vehicles completely mangled.

According to a PTI report, the deceased were identified as Shahjad, 40, Kiran Yadav, 38, Kundan, 20 and Himanshu, 17.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his grief over the accident.

In a similar incident, a woman was killed when a bus met with an accident in Andhra Pradesh. A 21-year-old woman was killed 25 people were injured in the East Godavari district on Thursday night. Of the injured, some are said to be in critical condition.

On Wednesday, at least 10 individuals were killed and 15 others sustained injuries after a truck they were travelling met with an accident. The victims were commuting from Savanur to Kumta market to sell vegetables. 

The injured are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. 

SF Kammar,  KMC hospital Director said, "One patient was brought dead ( to the hospital). The rest of the 11 injured are admitted to our emergency department...these patients are going to be evaluated, right now they are out of danger but continuous monitoring is required..."
