Bus Carrying Pilgrims To Vaishno Devi Temple Collides With Truck In Jammu, 13 Injured

A bus en route to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine collided with a stationary dumper truck, 13 people were injured.

Around 13 people were injured when the bus that was en route to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine collided with a stationary dumper truck in Jumm on Tuesday. According to a PTI report, the accident occurred at Nagrota on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway when the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle.

The injured were admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment. The condition of all the injured, including three children and two women, is stated to be “stable”.

In another incident, three individuals were killed and many others were injured when an SUV they were travelling in to attend the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj collided with a truck in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district on Tuesday.

The incident took place on the Bhopal-Sagar highway at around 3 am, as per the PTI report.

The sports utility vehicle (SUV) collided head-on with a truck, resulting in the tragic death of three occupants at the scene, according to Rahatgarh police station in-charge Mahesh Singh Thakur. Three other individuals sustained injuries in the accident and are currently receiving treatment at the district hospital.

The SUV occupants, residents of Dhamnod and Dharampuri in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district, were en route to Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, to take a holy dip at the Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh.

Due to the impact of the collision, the victims were stuck in the SUV and a cutter was used to pull out the victims from the vehicle. The bodies were handed over to the family members after post-mortem.

Meanwhile, in Raebareli, four people, including two women, died while five others were injured on Tuesday in a collision between an SUV and a tractor-trolley. The victims were from Baldu Bihar Durga Mandir area in Lucknow’s Telibagh, and were going to Prayagraj for a holy dip in the Maha Kumbh fair. The accident occurred near Kanha Dhaba on the Munshiganj bypass in the Badohar area.

When the police received the information, police went to the spot and rushed the injured to the district hospital where they declared some of them dead. The deceased were identified as Rajni Devi (70), Ashish Dwivedi (42), Deependra Rawat (40), and Maya Devi (45).

The injured are undergoing treatment, a critically injured person has been referred to AIIMS, Raebareli for further treatment.
