Social media influencer Kamal Kaur, with over 3.83 lakh followers on Instagram, was found dead in a car parked near a private university in Punjab's Bathinda on Wednesday night.

The Punjab Police have initiated a murder investigation after the body was found near Adesh Medical University in the city.

TOI citing police sources said initial evidence suggests that Kamal Kaur was murdered at a different location and her body was then transported in a car, which was registered in the Ludhiana district.

The vehicle was later reportedly abandoned in the parking area of the medical university. The body was discovered after a strong foul smell drew the attention of people nearby, who promptly informed the police.

Bathinda’s Senior Superintendent of Police, Amneet Kondal, confirmed the grim development. "Prima facie, there seems to be something fishy. An FIR under murder charges is being registered," TOI said quoting the officer. A forensic team has been called in to assist with the investigation.
