The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for several regions across the country, warning of moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching up to 60 kmph in the next few hours. Residents in affected areas have been urged to take precautions and avoid unnecessary travel.

In Madhya Pradesh, districts such as Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Dindori, Mandla, and Balaghat are expected to witness intense weather activity. Chhattisgarh will also be significantly affected, with alerts issued for Mungeli, Kabirdham, Bemetara, Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Balod, Kanker, and Narayanpur.

Moving west, Maharashtra’s Gondia, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Wardha, and Nanded districts are under similar warnings. In the southern states, Karnataka will see rainfall in Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, and Ramnagar districts, while Tamil Nadu's Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Kallakkurichi, Cuddalore, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Tenka Si, Kanyakumari, and Theni are also bracing for adverse conditions.

Alert In Kerala's Kottayam, Idukki

In Kerala, residents of Thrissur, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram have been placed on alert. Assam will also see stormy weather, especially in Dibrugarh, Charaideo, and Sibsagar.

Authorities have advised the public to stay indoors, avoid taking shelter under trees or near unstable structures, and stay updated through official IMD channels. Commuters are cautioned against waterlogging and low visibility conditions that may arise suddenly due to heavy downpours.

The IMD continues to monitor the evolving weather patterns and will issue updates as needed. Residents in all affected states are urged to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols during this period of intense weather activity.
