Stones Pelted, Lathis Used As 2 Groups Clash In Haryana’s Nuh After Eid Prayers, 3 Arrested As Video Surfaces

A clash between two groups in Haryana's Nuh left over five injured. The incident occurred after Eid prayers due to an old rivalry, police said.

A clash between two groups from the same community following Eid prayers in Haryana’s Nuh left more than five people injured on Monday. According to police, the incident occurred around 9 am in Tirwada village and was linked to an old rivalry between groups led by Rashid and Sajid. Police teams from multiple stations were rushed to the spot after receiving information, and the situation was brought under control. Three people have been arrested over the violence.

Officials said a police team has been deployed in the village to maintain peace, news agency PTI reported.

The violence erupted when members of one group, returning home after offering Namaz at an Idgah, got into an altercation with members of the rival group. The situation escalated, and both sides attacked each other with sticks. Following police intervention, the injured were taken to a hospital.

According to PTI, Nuh police spokesperson Krishan Kumar said, “There is an old dispute between the groups of Rashid and Sajid. In this incident, Meeru and Hafiz from Rashid’s group, and Khurshid, Ashmin, and Noor Mohammad from Sajid’s group sustained injuries and are receiving treatment in hospital. Some others from both groups also suffered minor injuries.”

He added, “Our police teams are on the spot, and the situation is under control. A probe is underway, and an FIR will be registered soon.”
