Fire Breaks Out In 4-Storey Gwalior Building, Gas Cylinder Blasts Reported — WATCH

A massive fire broke out in a four-storey building in Gwalior’s Chawri Bazar. During which several gas cylinders exploded in the blaze.

A fire broke out in a building in the Chawri Bazar area of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday morning. The fire started on the ground floor of a four-storey building where a thread factory is located.

Following this, the fire spread to all floors, firefighters worked swiftly to extinguish the blaze. There were seven flats in the building which had gas cylinders. Some of the cylinders were removed by the firefighters, while others exploded in the fire.

Janakganj Police Station In-Charge Vipendra Singh, while speaking to ANI, said that the Kalagopal building in Chawri Bazar had caught fire. “Police reached the spot immediately, and the fire department was also informed. This is a four-storey building, and the fire started from the ground floor where a thread factory is being run. The fire slowly spread to all floors. The fire has been brought under control."

Two Firemen Injured

The Janakganj Police Station In-Charge said that two of the firemen were injured in the cylinder blast and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

"There were seven flats in the building, which had gas cylinders. We took out some while some blasted in the fire... Two of our firemen were injured in the last cylinder blast. They have been sent to the hospital for treatment," he added.

He also explained that initially, due to the narrow lanes, the firefighters had difficulty reaching the spot, but they decided to extend the fire hose, and that’s how they were able to bring the fire under control.

On April 8, a fire broke out at a warehouse in Madhya Pradesh's Morena. Fire tenders immediately rushed to the spot and were able to douse the fire.
