Drunk Delhi Man Dials Police, Says 'I Knew Pahalgam Attack Would Happen'

On Wednesday, a man was arrested from Jharkhand's Bokaro district for sharing an objectionable social media post after the terror attack.

The Delhi Police received a call late Wednesday night where a man claimed that he had prior information about the terror attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam. On questioning the man, it was found that he had called under the influence of alcohol, the police said.

After questioning the man by several agencies, his claim was found to be baseless.

On Wednesday, a man was arrested from Jharkhand's Bokaro district for sharing an objectionable social media post after the terror attack. The man thanked Pakistan for the terror attack that claimed 26 lives.

The man, whose social media bio describes him as an Islamic lawyer and a "bold orator", thanked Pakistan. "Thank You, Lashkar-e-Taiba. May Allah bless you always. Amen Amen. We will be more happy if RSS, BJP, Bajarang Dal and the media are targeted," he wrote on X.

Pahalgam Terror Attack

Twenty-six people were killed in the attack, the deadliest in the Valley since the Pulwama strike in 2019.

Meanwhile, the Centre has called an all-party meeting on Thursday evening. The decision to call the all-party meeting was taken on Wednesday, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah reaching out to various parties.

There has been a convention for calling an all-party meeting following an incident with serious repercussions related to national security, as was seen after the Pulwama terror attack in 2019 or during the India-China standoff in 2020.
