A sudden change in weather conditions has caused widespread devastation across Uttar Pradesh, with storms, heavy rain, and lightning strikes claiming 24 lives over the past two days. Around 15 people have been injured, while 16 animals have also died due to the extreme weather conditions. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.
The Chief Minister has also directed officials to ensure proper treatment for the injured. He instructed authorities to provide compensation within 24 hours for deaths, livestock losses, and injuries caused by excessive rainfall. CM Yogi warned that any negligence in relief efforts would not be tolerated.
Farmers Suffer Heavy Losses Due To Hailstorm
According to an official statement, unseasonal rain and hailstorms have caused significant damage to farmers across the state. Intermittent rainfall has been continuing in several districts of Uttar Pradesh since Wednesday, affecting crops and causing losses to many residents.
The statement added that the Chief Minister has ordered immediate compensation for affected farmers and disaster victims. CM Yogi issued clear instructions regarding relief measures amid the ongoing untimely rainfall and hailstorm situation in the state.

Officials Ordered To Ensure Compensation
As per the statement, officials have been directed to provide compensation to families affected by loss of life, livestock deaths, injuries, and other disaster-related damages. The Chief Minister made it clear that negligence at any level in providing compensation would not be accepted.
He also instructed officials to remain on alert mode with immediate effect. While the rainfall brought relief from the intense heatwave conditions, it has simultaneously increased the difficulties faced by farmers due to crop damage.
