BPSC Row — Bihar Guv To Meet 11-Member Student Delegation, Facilitate Dialogue With Nitish Govt: Prashant Kishor

BPSC Exam Row: Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan assured efforts to address the allegations of a question paper leak and facilitating talks with the Nitish Kumar government, as per Prashant Kishor.

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Monday claimed that Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has taken steps to address the ongoing controversy surrounding the 70th Combined Competitive Examination (BPSC). Kishor, who has been on a hunger strike for several days, revealed that the governor has assured efforts to find a solution to the issue and will facilitate talks between the state government and the protesting aspirants.

Kishor addressed a press conference, stating, "Respected Bihar Governor has taken the initiative and assured that efforts will be made to find a solution to the issue involving the recently concluded BPSC exam. Steps will also be taken to hold a dialogue between the government and the protesting aspirants. This has been assured by the governor. An 11-member delegation of BPSC aspirants will meet the governor in this regard", news agency PTI reported.

The controversy stems from the December 13 BPSC exam, which has been marred by allegations of a question paper leak. Although the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has denied these allegations, a fresh test was ordered for over 12,000 candidates.

The former political strategist also reiterated his stance on the matter, stating that he would continue with his "fast unto death" to press the demand for the cancellation of the December 13 exam.

Kishor, 47, had been discharged from a Patna hospital on Saturday after his health condition showed improvement. He was hospitalised last week following his arrest for staging a dharna in a prohibited area of Patna. He was granted bail by a court hours later.

Protests have been ongoing for weeks in Patna, with aspirants demanding that fresh exams be conducted for all five lakh candidates who appeared at more than 900 centres across the state to ensure a "level-playing field."
