UP Man Die By Suicide, Accuses Lover's Family Of Harassment
In a separate incident, a 25-year-old man committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki leaving behind a suicide note accusing his lover's family of harassment on Friday (January 10). Sudheer Kumar also shared a Facebook post titled 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani'(our incomplete story) and pictures from his court wedding and marriage certificate.
In the note, Sudheer said he had been in a relationship with Komal for about four years and married her at court about six months ago. He alleged that his lover's family opposed the relationship and had been harassing him.
He further wrote that his roommate, Ayush was Komal's brother and he initially backed their relationship. However, Komal's parents did not approve of the relationship and harassed him.
Komal had repeatedly told Sudheer that she wanted to be with him, he said in the note, adding that it was on her insistence that the two opted for court marriage. "Then Komal told her family about the court marriage, I don't know what happened, but we stopped talking," he wrote, accusing Komal and her family of harassment.
Sudheer further alleged that Komal, her mother, and her brother Ayush "asked him to die."
On Friday morning, Sudheer's body was found hanging from a tree near their home. His family members claimed that Komal's parents wanted him to agree to divorce and would call him repeatedly. But he had told them that he would not move for a divorce unless Komal told him to, his brother said.
The body has been sent for autopsy, said police officer Santosh Kumar, adding a complaint has been registered by Sudheer's family and the probe is underway.
