4 Arrested For Stealing Bikes From Greater Noida Societies, Befriended Security Guards To Gain Access

Bisrakh police station of Greater Noida arrested a gang of four thieves who used to steal vehicles by befriending the society guards. 25 stolen bikes were recovered.

Think your parked vehicle is safe inside a fully guarded residential society? Well, you may have to reconsider your notion after this alarming incident from Greater Noida. While society guards might have your steadfast trust and confidence, motorcycle theft gangs are upping the ante on tactics to evade their watchful eyes.

The Greater Noida Police on Wednesday arrested a gang comprising four men for stealing bikes from residential societies. The police have also recovered 25 stolen bikes from them.

Thieves Befriend Guards To Infiltrate Greater Noida Societies

According to Bisrakh police station in Greater Noida, the gang which was arrested was involved in a series of bike thefts that targeted residential societies. Police officials said that the gang operated with an unusual modus operandi, in which they would establish a friendly relationship with the society guards to successfully sneak into the society.

The thieves gained easy access to the premises by befriending the cops and their familiarity within the premises allowed them to move in and out with minimal suspicion. They stole the master key in the absence of the watchmen's attention, using which they would steal the bikes.

Upon questioning, the gang members revealed that they used this plan and managed to steal 25 bikes so far. All the bikes have been recovered.

Such a lapse in security of guarded residential areas raises eyebrows and puts a question mark against the vigilance of security guards.
