Pensioners' Life Certificate Submission, Train Timetable To WhatsApp: Key Changes Coming Into Effect From Today

From change in the train timetable to submission of life certificates, here are a slew of changes that will impact your day-to-day life

New Delhi: With the beginning of a new month, a lot of changes will kick in that will have a bearing on your daily life. It is important to note these changes from starting Monday to avoid inconveniences such as missing out on deadlines or key facilities. Some of these changes span from changes in the train timetable to the submission of life certificates.

Pensioners’ life certificate: This month remains crucial for pensioners as they have to submit Life certificates this month to be able to receive an uninterrupted pension in their bank accounts. Pensioners can also submit their life certificates by visiting a bank, post office, availing of doorstep service, or at Jeevan Pramaan Portal.

LPG prices: The price of commercial LPG gas cylinders has increased by Rs 266 from today onwards. Now, the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder in Delhi will be Rs 2000.50 from today which was Rs 1734 earlier. However, there has been no increase in the price of domestic LPG cylinders.

Earlier on October 1, the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders was increased. In Delhi, the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was increased from Rs 1693 to Rs 1734. It was Rs 1805.50 in Kolkata, Rs 1,685.00 in Mumbai, and Rs 1867.50 in Chennai. On October 6, state-owned oil companies had increased the rates of non-subsidized LPG gas cylinders.

SBI launches special facility for pensioners:  The State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a new service on Monday. Under it, the pensioners won't have to visit a bank branch to submit a life certificate. The facility will allow them to do so via a video call.

Changes in Railway timetable: Indian Railways has made changes in the timetable of trains across the country. The new timings will be effective from November 1. Railways will change the timings of some special trains originating from Western Railway according to the non - monsoon timings with effect from 1 November.

WhatsApp Change: The social media platform will start removing support for some Android, iOS, and KaiOS devices running on old OS versions from Monday. The application will completely stop working on some devices. According to Facebook, which owns WhatsApp, smartphones using Android 4.0.3 or lower will not be supported by the messaging platform. For those who want to continue using the application, there is no option but to get a new device with support for the app.
