Toyota Innova Hycross Vs Mahindra XUV700: Premium ADAS Equipped 7-Seaters

The Hycross has a lot more in technology to offer along with more comfort. The true rival would be Mahindra's XUV700 which also has a lot of features while also giving comfort.

The next battle ground is the premium three row SUV/family car with the new Innova Hycross from Toyota being much better equipped now to fight other 7-seater SUVs. Unlike the Crysta, the Hycross has a lot more in technology to offer now along with more comfort hence, the true rival would be the XUV700 from Mahindra which also has a lot of features while also giving comfort, along with being at a lower price. Which Car Is Bigger ?

The New Innova Hycross is much bigger than the current Crysta and that means it is also longer than the XUV700. The XUV700 is wider though and obviously has more ground clearance too. That said the difference in ground clearance is not huge and the Innova Hycross has a longer wheelbase too. That said, the XUV700 has the obvious SUV stance and looks quite attractive which the Hycross also follows. The Hycross looks huge though and also long while teh XUV700 has the sportier look.

Which Car Has The Better Interior ?

Both cars have premium cabins with soft touch materials all around but the XUV700 has a more technology filled layout with twin screens including a digital display and a massive touchsreen. The Innova Hycross also has a large floating touchscreen but has a part digital display. In terms of space, both the cars are spacious with the Hycross scoring more with a huge amount of space at the second or third row while captain seats along with being Ottoman style, including a leg rest is a bonus feature. The XUV700 also has a spacious bench seat at the second row.

Which Car Has More Features ?

The XUV700 has wireless smartphone connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, an Alexa assistant, auto booster headlamps, an electric parking brake plus a 12-speaker audio system and a dual zone climate control along with more. The Innova Hycross also shares some of the features which the XUV700 also has including a panoramic sunroof, an electric parking brake, connected car tech, Ottoman function for the second row seats, ambient lighting etc. Another common safety feature is the ADAS features including Level 2 functions which are available in both cars.

Which Car Is More Powerful ? 

The XUV700 gets a 2.2l diesel which makes 185bhp and 450Nm with option of AWD along with a six speed automatic plus a manual gearbox. There is a petrol engine too with 200bhp along with 380Nm. Both cars get a six-speed manual/automatic.

The Innova Hycross does not get AWD but is also petrol only with a 2.0l petrol engine which makes 172hp and 205Nm along with a CVT gearbox. The highlight though is the hybrid powertrain which makes 184 bhp but has a claimed mileage of 23.24 kmpl. The XUV700 though beats the Hycross with more power with the Innova Hycross having more efficiency.

Which Car Is Better Value ?

The XUV700 starts from Rs 13.4 lakh while the top-end is Rs 24.9 lakh. The Innova Hycross starts from Rs 18.30 lakh while the top-end is priced at Rs 28.9 lakh. The Innova Hycross is more spacious and efficient but is also more expensive while coming in petrol only. The XUV700 is cheaper and gets a diesel too. Hence, as a chauffeur driven option look at the Innova Hycross while the XUV700 is the better self driven option.
