Should Renault Launch Its Austral E-Tech Hybrid In India To Rival Innova?

Renault Austral launch: Renault has a vast range of cars which make sense for India and while it will bring new products to India from 2025, it could also be looking at plugging gaps in its portfolio. Renault could be looking at premium SUVs in India and one of the launches could be the Austral E-Tech hybrid.
It has been seen testing in India and it would be bigger than the Hyryder or Grand Vitara. It would rival the likes of the Innova Hycross and it has a self charging strong hybrid technology. The Austral replaced the Kadjar while using a 1.2l turbo petrol along with a large electric motor plus battery pack which is cooled by the aircon system.
It is a complex hybrid system with 200hp and which promises 25 kmpl which is even more than other small cars! It also has a full range of more than 1000 km which is also huge again. The new Austral is a handsome SUV and looks interesting with a crossover look.
There are 19inch alloys on offer and it is a plus sized SUV. Being a hybrid you would be able to drive it at city speeds in full electric mode too. Inside, it has a huge touchscreen plus a Google built-in system along with 50 apps. There are premium features like a heads-up display and bigger wheels plus LED Matrix headlamps.
The question is whether Renault is testing it for India launch or the hybrid system which could be offered in other cars notably its next Duster replacement. With a hybrid, this SUV can do well given the excellent fuel efficiency on offer and we think it is worth bringing this car in India given the need for more fuel efficient SUVs.
