Now that the new Sonet has landed in India, we will do a quick comparison as to which is the best in terms of features or space along with the most engine options. Let us go through the on-paper specs.
Which is the biggest car?
All SUVs fall below the 4m segment in terms of SUVs and all three have a length of 3995mm. In terms of width, the Nexon is widest at 1804mm vs the Venue at 1770mm and Sonet at 1790mm. In terms of wheelbase, the Nexon comes in at 2498mm vs the Venue and Sonet at 2500mm. Ground clearance-wise the Nexon is highest at 208mm vs the Sonet at 205mm and the Venue coming in at 195mm.

Which car has the best features?
All three have a sunroof, climate control, wireless charging, connected car tech, air purifier and more but there are some differences. Ventilated seats and a 360-degree camera are offered by the Sonet and Nexon while the Sonet and Venue offer powered driver seat adjustment. Both the Nexon and Sonet have a 10.25-inch touchscreen while the Venue has an 8-inch one. Nexon and Sonet also get configurable digital dials while the Venue has semi-digital. In terms of safety, ADAS is now the latest buzzword and here the Venue was the first car to have this feature in this segment and now the Sonet also gets it. Venue on the other hand has a 2-step rear seat recline. 6 airbags are standard on all of the cars.
Which car has the widest choice of powertrains?
The New Nexon continues with a 1.2l turbo petrol which comes with either a 6-speed manual or a DCT or a 5-speed manual along with an AMT. There is also a 1.5l diesel which comes with an AMT and a 6-speed manual. The Sonet facelift meanwhile comes with a 1.2l petrol with a 5-speed manual. There is also a 1.5l diesel with a 6-speed manual while there is also a 6-speed iMT for the turbo petrol and diesel. In terms of automatics, the turbo petrol has a DCT automatic while the diesel has a torque converter auto. The Venue meanwhile also has a 1.2l petrol with a 5-speed manual while the turbo petrol either has a 6-speed manual or a DCT while the diesel has a 6-speed manual only.
Prices
The Sonet facelift prices have not been revealed but current Sonet prices hover from Rs 7.7 lakh to Rs 14.8 lakh. We expect a slight increase in prices with the new one. The Nexon meanwhile is priced between Rs 8- Rs 15.10 lakh while the Venue comes in at Rs 7.8 lakh to Rs 13.4 lakh.
