Mahindra Thar Roxx Vs Thar 3 Door. Check The Features
The Roxx is the much awaited 5-door version but it is also quite different from the regular Thar 3 door. First of all it is not based on the 3-door Thar and it is not a 3-door Thar with extra doors
Mahindra will launch its next big product in the premium SUV space and it will sit alongside the Scorpio N as a butch 5 door SUV. While earlier it was rumoured to be called the Thar Armada, it is now called Thar Roxx.
The Roxx is the much awaited 5-door version but it is also quite different from the regular Thar 3 door. First of all it is not based on the 3-door Thar and it is not a 3-door Thar with extra doors.
In fact it is closer to the Scorpio N than the Thar with a longer wheelbase. The suspension and the components would also be closer to the Scorpio N and not the 3-door Thar including the suspension. Design wise, the Thar Roxx has a different front-end look vs the Thar 3-door with a new grille.
The Thar Roxx has a dual slot grille vs the 3-door Thar. The headlamp set-up is also new vs the 3-door Thar with LED lighting. The side profile brings in much bigger diamond cut alloys on the Thar Roxx vs the simpler ones on the 3-door Thar. The other difference is in the length as the Roxx is much longer and has a longer wheelbase with more space for rear seat occupants along with more luggage space too.
If we talk about the interior, the basic design of the Roxx will not be shared with the 3-door Thar as the Roxx will get dual 10.25-inch screens including a digital cluster plus a lot more features. We can expect a powered drivers seat, 360 degree camera, ADAS, sunroof and more. These features have been missing from the 3-door Thar.
One thing that would be shared with the 3-door Thar would be the engine line-up with the Thar Roxx having the same 1.5l diesel in RWD plus a 2.0l turbo petrol, 2.2l diesel. The petrol 2.0 and the 2.2l will get 4x4 plus either a 6-speed auto plus 6-speed manual. Of course, the Thar Roxx would be a lot more expensive over the 3-door but it would be an entirely new proposition.
