In the Modi cabinet expansion, 43 new ministers took oath of office on Wednesday. After this, the total number of ministers in the Modi government has increased to 77. Before the cabinet expansion of the Modi government, some major reshuffles were done. Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan resigned from their posts. In the new cabinet expansion of the Modi government, 36 new faces have been given place while 7 ministers have been promoted and given cabinet rank.
