Breaking: Nitish Kumar Set To Resign As NDA Accelerates Government Formation In Bihar

Government-formation activity has intensified in Bihar following the NDA’s decisive victory. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has called a crucial cabinet meeting at 11:30 AM, where the proposal to dissolve the current council of ministers is expected to be approved. After this meeting, Nitish Kumar will proceed to the Raj Bhavan to submit his resignation to Governor Mohammed Arif Khan, formally initiating the transition toward the new government. Sources indicate that the NDA aims to complete the government-formation process swiftly, with party legislator meetings scheduled to select their respective leaders. It is expected that the NDA legislative party will unanimously elect Nitish Kumar as its leader, after which he will stake claim to form the next government. Preparations are already underway for a grand swearing-in ceremony on 20 November, likely at Gandhi Maidan, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several NDA-ruled states’ chief ministers may attend. Reports suggest that Nitish Kumar is poised to take oath as Chief Minister for the tenth time. The new cabinet is expected to include 31 ministers, with a shared formula between alliance partners. BJP and JDU may each receive 13 ministerial berths, while LJP, RLM, and HAM may get one each. Two Deputy Chief Ministers are also expected, both from the BJP, maintaining caste balance within the alliance.
