Breaking: Controversy Erupts Over Aniruddh Acharya’s Comments on Women’s Behavior and Scriptures

Aniruddh Acharya’s discourses often focus heavily on women, advising them on what they should or shouldn’t do. During an episode of ABP News’ show Sanatan Samvad, when asked why he frequently comments on women, Acharya explained his views. He said that while it’s good for girls to study, some use education as an excuse to engage in activities like watching movies. He suggested that instead of watching "obscene" films, they should watch meaningful movies like The Kashmir Files to learn important lessons. He warned that watching inappropriate content harms the mind and society. Acharya further referenced traditional scriptures, mentioning that if the word “Radha” appeared in a sacred text, it would be unacceptable to him, claiming it would be a distortion of meaning. However, scholars present contested his interpretation, pointing out that the verse he cited from the Bhagavat Purana (Skandha 8, Chapter 10, Verse 40) does not mention “Radha” but uses a different term altogether. This has raised questions about Acharya’s accuracy and intentions in interpreting ancient texts. Critics argue that such statements not only misrepresent scripture but also unfairly target women, perpetuating stereotypes rather than promoting true spiritual knowledge.
