Hyderabad News: Meet Ramesh Karthik Nayak, The First Tribal To Win The Sahitya Yuva Akademi Award

26-year-old Ramesh Karthik Nayak, a bilingual poet and short story writer from Telangana, has been honored with the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2024 for his collection of short stories titled 'Dhavlo'. Ramesh is not only the youngest recipient of this prestigious award but also the first tribal author from Telangana to receive this recognition. "2024 Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for my short story collection, my debut collection got this award and since three years i am on the short list and this is the first time and people are telling that I am the youngest person to get this award in Telugu and also the first tribal person to get this award in the Telugu state. So I am very happy fop that," says Winner of Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2024. Ramesh Karthik Nayak has authored four books - three in Telugu and one in English. Nayak's writing paints a vivid picture of the lifestyle of the Banjara community. His poems have been published in international journals and translated into various Indian languages, including Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali.
