Scientific Significance Of Mahashivratri Night

Nature itself assists the individual in reaching spiritual heights. This is why it is said that staying awake and sitting in a meditative posture with a straight spine on Mahashivratri night is beneficial.
Mahashivratri Puja Rituals
- On Mahashivratri, wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and perform the puja at an auspicious time. Puja is performed during all four quarters of the night, but the Nishita Muhurat is considered the most auspicious.
- Wear clean clothes for the puja and meditate on Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Sit down in a comfortable posture. Place a platform (chauki) at a clean spot and spread a white cloth over it.
- Place the idol of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on the platform. Alternatively, you can visit a temple and worship the Shivling as well.
- First, perform the abhishekam of the Shivling with Ganga water, raw milk, sugarcane juice, curd, and other offerings. Then, light a ghee lamp and worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with proper rituals.
- Apply sandalwood paste on Lord Shiva and offer bel leaves, bhang, datura, flowers, sweets, and other offerings. Also, apply sindoor to Goddess Parvati and worship her with devotion.
- Along with offering the items for marital bliss to Goddess Parvati, offer food and prasad to Lord Shiva. Afterward, perform the Aarti of Lord Shiva and chant the sacred mantras that are dear to Him. This will elevate the spiritual energy and bring blessings into your life.
