VID Vs MUM: Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube marks his domestic cricket return in style, as the swashbuckling batsman did his bits with the ball, by leading a brilliant comeback of Mumbai against Vidharba on Day 2 of the semi-final match in Ranji Trophy 2024-25.

Vidharba ended Day 1 on a stronger note, and were destined to touch the 500-run mark, until Shivam Dube arrived in the mix and grabbed a sensational 5-wicket haul to restrict the home side below 400.

Vidharba were bundled out for 383, with Danish Vishnu Malewar top-scoring for the side with 79 runs, followed by a gritty 74-run knock from Dhruv Shorey. The home side lost 5 wickets in the first session, as Shivam Dube and other Mumbai bowlers were too good with the new ball in the morning session.

Mumbai are the reigning champions of Ranji Trophy, and are in contention for their record 43rd title. Vidharba, on the other hand, hold a strong bowling attack in their arsenal, consisting the likes of Darshan Nalkande and Yash Thakur.

Mumbai batters will be presented with a stern challenge to avoid troubles in the initial phase of their innings, as the defending champions hold the likes of veteran Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shardul Thakur in their ranks.

Tanush Kotian Goes Wicket-Less In 1st Innings

Much to the surprise of Mumbai, spinner Tanush Kotian failed to make an impact in the first innings of the semi-final fixture, as the right-arm off-spinner recorded the figures of 0/78 in 22 overs.

To make the matters worse, the 26-year-old failed to bowl ever a single miden over throughout the innings. Tanush Kotian is amongst the leading wicket-takers of Mumbai in Ranji Trophy this season with 20 wickets, and is just behind teammates Shams Mulani (38), Shardul Thakur (34), and Mohit Avasthi (24) in the list.
