‘This Is The Best Way…’: Viral Video Of Clothes Drying In A US Backyard Sparks Online Debate

A viral video of clothes drying in a U.S. backyard sparked debate after comparing it to India. Shared by Mohammad Anas, the clip ignited discussions on cultural perceptions and everyday habits.

A video of clothes hanging on a backyard clothesline in the United States has gone viral, igniting a debate on social media. The clip, shared by Mohammad Anas, an Indian-origin man who assists students settling in the U.S., featured an on-screen text that read, "Not India, this is USA," accompanied by a shocked emoji.

While some viewers found the video amusing and harmless, others were quick to question the implied comparison. Many pointed out that air-drying clothes is a common practice worldwide and should not be linked to a specific country.

Critics argued that the caption unnecessarily highlighted a routine activity, while supporters of air-drying emphasized its eco-friendly benefits, which are embraced in various parts of the world, including the United States.

Users Reaction to the Viral Post

One of the users said, “Literally every single movie of middle America starts with some lady hanging cloths on a line…” Whereas another one wrote “Hanging clothes to dry? My mom used to make me help put up and take down clothes every(other) weekend, when I was a kid. I’m from Tennessee.”

Another user showed surprise and said, “Man, get lost. I was try to look for something wrong but all I see is people hanging their clothes outside in THEIR own yard. What's the issue here? Like people in 🇺🇸 doesn't?”

The video, posted on Anas' official Instagram account (@md24_anas) five days ago, has since amassed over 5 million views. Social media users flooded the comment section with mixed reactions, turning a simple clip into a broader conversation about cultural perceptions and daily life habits.
