River Throws Back Heaps Of Trash On Bridge After Heavy Rainfall, Video Shared By IFS Officer Is Viral

The origin and date of the video remain unknown, but it is presumed to be a result of heavy rainfall in states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

From collapsing bridges to houses and roads caving in, there are several videos that have emerged on social media showing the destruction caused by heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. One such video gone viral on the internet shows a bridge covered in heaps of garbage that includes numerous plastic bottles. Shared by Indian Forest Service officer (IFS) Parveen Kaswan on Twitter, the clip has amassed several views. But what is more important is the underlying message it conveys - the nature at some point of time or other, will hit back.

"Nature - 1, Humans - 0. River has thrown all the trash back at us. Received as forward," reads the caption of the post shared by Kaswan.

The origin and date of the video remain unknown, but it is presumed to be a result of the recent deluge that has engulfed hill states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Since being shared, the video has amassed 1M views, 20.9k likes and tons of comments.

"Looks like just a hint of it, I wonder how much burden this river carries as a garbage," commented one user on the video.

"This is a message we see at every flood. Yet, no one changes. No improvement in the way we manage trash. Govts are not doing their job," wrote another user.

"Few years back when in Mussorie & looking at all the trash on the roads, I asked my cabbie if anything is being done to clean the roads. As a matter of fact, he replied 'ek mahiney mein sab theek hojayega'. When asked how, 'baarish aayegi to ye sab neechey beh jayega'," commented a third.

"Hope in the process of cleaning, they don't throw it back into the river..," wrote a fourth.

Meanwhile, the MeT office has issued a 'yellow' alert for heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning on July 15 and 16 and predicted a wet spell till July 18.
