Eman Lahre and Pratima Lahre bypassed conventional rituals such as the "Saat Phere" (seven vows) and "Band Baja," opting for a ceremony that reflected their commitment to equality and social justice.
The wedding, held on the birth anniversary of Guru Ghasidas, founder of Satnam Dharma, marked a significant departure from customary practices. The couple eschewed traditions like the "mangalsutra" and "sindoor" ceremonies. Instead, they pledged their lifelong support to each other in front of a portrait of Dr. B.R. “This type of marriage saves on extravagant expenses,” said the groom, Eman Lahre. “We decided to tie the knot with our families’ consent, avoiding unnecessary expenditure.”
