'IIT Bombay' Groom And 'IIT Delhi' Bride: This Wedding Card Has Triggered A Joke Fest

"Disappointed that they didn’t have their major, salary, linkedin profile mentioned in that invite," commented one user on the post.

In India, wedding cards are as important as any other wedding preparations and are always the talk of the town. They come in all forms, from personalized cards to environmentally conscious options featuring biodegradable materials. Of late, a photo of an old wedding invitation card that highlighted the educational achievements of the bride and groom has gone viral on social media.

Shared on the microblogging site X, formerly Twitter, by user Mahesh, the invitation card shows the groom, Piyush Bajpai as an alumni of IIT Bombay, and the bride Mamta Mishra an IIT Delhi alumni.

"All you need is love to get married," reads the caption of the post.

Though, it can not be confirmed whether the card is from a real wedding or a prank, it still highlights the obsession Indians have with colleges such as IITs and IIMs.

Since being shared, the post has amassed close to 60,000 views and tons of comments.

"Disappointed that they didn’t have their major, salary, linkedin profile mentioned in that invite," commented one user on the post.

"They should have just mentioned IIT Bombay Weds IIT Delhi, another wrote jokingly on the post.

While a third wrote, "Getting into an IIT is an achievement. Jise flaunt krna hai krne do".

"I hope their kids don’t get into IIT , imagine what their wedding cards will look like," wrote a fourth.
