They come in all forms, from personalized cards to environmentally conscious options featuring biodegradable materials. Of late, a photo of an old wedding invitation card that highlighted the educational achievements of the bride and groom has gone viral on social media.
Shared on the microblogging site X, formerly Twitter, by user Mahesh, the invitation card shows the groom, Piyush Bajpai as an alumni of IIT Bombay, and the bride Mamta Mishra an IIT Delhi alumni.

Though, it can not be confirmed whether the card is from a real wedding or a prank, it still highlights the obsession Indians have with colleges such as IITs and IIMs.
Since being shared, the post has amassed close to 60,000 views and tons of comments.
