Elon Musk Says 'Namaste', Wins Heart Of Desi Twitter

Elon Musk who has remained firm in the eye of the storm has won the hearts of Indias as he tweeted ‘Namaste’

The world’s richest man, Elon Musk who has remained firm in the eye of the storm, has made desi Twitter happy with his 'Namaste' tweet to his critics.

The billionaire entrepreneur has posted about Indian connections quite often in his posts. The salutation gesture from Musk went on to garner hilarious reactions from Twitterati.

In his tweet, Musk was calling out those critical of him to stay on other platforms while he wrapped up his message in Hindi - "Namaste". "Hope all judgy hall monitors stay on other platforms - please, I'm begging u," wrote Musk.

One of the users responded to the tweet wishing him all the best for his new acquisition and ambition for the new platform.

While some users didn't leave the chance to take a dig at Musk after he fired employees post-takeover. One of the netizens said, "Please sack all indian employees and let them sell fulki they can earn more I believe."

Another user tried to explain the meaning of Namaskar in response to a tweet that assumed that Musk was seeking forgiveness for his action on the social media platform.

In a post a few days back, Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk said that the microblogging platform is very slow in India and many other countries, compared to the United States.

The new Twitter chief has come under criticism for axing nearly two-thirds of Twitter’s 7,500-person workforce in three weeks since he took over the reins of the social media firm.

Musk also announced several changes including a verified blue subscription to monetise the platform. The company is undoubtedly going through the most chaotic transition under the new boss.

Back in India, the company laid off nearly 180 of its 230-odd employees, reported the Economic Times.

Twitter has around 23.6 million users (as of January 2022), according to Statista. India is the third largest market in terms of users.
India reportedly accounts only for a small percentage of Twitter’s revenue. However, former Twitter India head Manish Maheshwari told that India remains a critical market from a user growth perspective.
