MATHURA: BJP MLA Anil Parashar, DSP Amit Pathak Clash Over Security Rules
During the Hariyali Teej festival in Mathura-Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, a heated confrontation reportedly took place between BJP MLA Anil Parashar from Aligarh’s Kol constituency and DSP Amit Pathak, who was deployed for security duty. The incident occurred when the MLA’s convoy reached Sosaiya Tiraha in Vrindavan. The DSP reportedly asked for details regarding the number of vehicles and required permissions as part of security arrangements. This led to a heated exchange between the MLA and the police officer. A video of the incident was recorded and later uploaded on social media, where it quickly went viral. In the footage, the MLA can be heard accusing the police of acting in a dictatorial manner and demanding respect for an elected representative. The MLA later claimed that the officer’s behaviour appeared unusually hostile and argued that elected representatives should be accorded due respect, even when formal protocol has not been communicated. The incident has sparked discussion over VIP movement, police protocol and the conduct of public representatives.
