'Canada Land Of Opportunity Or Broken Dreams?': Viral Video Shows Indian Students Lining Up For 'Waiter Jobs'

In the viral video, students waited in long queues outside a Brampton restaurdespite applying online, expressing frustration with the lack of job opportunities in Canada.

A video showing students, mostly from India, queued outside the ‘Tandoori Flame’ restaurant in Canada has gone viral on social media. The footage purportedly depicts thousands of students waiting in line to apply for positions as waiters and kitchen staff. This viral video raises concerns regarding the job opportunities available for international students, particularly those considering relocating to Canada for higher education or employment.

The video was posted on X, captioned: "A restaurant in Brampton wanted to hire some waiters, and behold, 3,000 students (mostly Indian) showed up. The alarming employment situation in Canada, coupled with rising living costs, has made life a living hell for many. Students arriving in Canada with rosy dreams need serious introspection!"

As the video begins, many students are seen standing in a long queue outside the restaurant. One job seeker, identified as Agamvir Singh, stated, "I came here around noon, and the line was enormous. We submitted our applications online, and they said they would conduct interviews. But nothing like that happened. People are just showing up. I don't believe there are job opportunities here. It is really tough."

Another job seeker, Vashvi, added, "It's so bad; it feels like everyone is looking for a job, yet no one is getting employed properly. So many of my friends don’t have jobs right now, and they have been here for 2-3 years."

Netizens' Responses To Viral Video

After the video surfaced on social media, netizens expressed mixed reactions and concerns over the harsh reality of unemployment in Canada. One user commented, "Still, these so-called students don't work back home in India. They will work there as dishwashers. Still not in their home country."

Another remarked, "It’s alarming to see 3,000 students, mainly from India, lining up for waiter and servant jobs in Brampton. This reflects the harsh reality of unemployment in Trudeau's Canada. Those leaving India for dreams need a serious reality check!"

A further comment read, "Heartbreaking scenes from Brampton: 3,000 students, mostly Indian, queue for waiter jobs after a single restaurant opening. Is Trudeau's Canada the land of opportunity or broken dreams?"
