American Airlines Flight Evacuated After Crew Detects Smoke. Check Out How The Fire Started: Video

American Airlines has faced multiple incidents in recent days, including a passenger exposing himself and a laptop fire that forced an evacuation.

American Airlines has been hit by a spate of untoward incidents in the last three days. From the landing gear on one of its planes catching fire to a passenger exposing himself and peeing in the aisle of another aircraft — the staff at American Airlines can't seem to catch a break.

In the latest incident, a Miami-bound aircraft had to be evacuated after a passenger's laptop inside the carry-on bag caught fire. The incident occurred on American Airlines flight 2045, which was scheduled to travel from San Francisco to Miami. On Friday afternoon, the plane was quickly evacuated using both emergency slides and the jet bridge, reported Fox News Digital.

The San Francisco Fire Department rushed to the airport runway quickly to extinguish the source of the smoke after passengers had safely disembarked and returned to the terminal.

According to a statement shared with Fox News Digital by the San Francisco Fire Department, three passengers sustained minor injuries during the evacuation. One of the flyers needed medical transport.

American Airlines explained in their statement, "During the boarding process for flight 2045 from San Francisco (SFO) to Miami (MIA), smoke was noticed coming from a passenger’s bag. Our crew swiftly removed the bag, and all passengers exited the aircraft."

It remains unclear if the Airbus A321 aircraft was damaged in any way in the incident.

"We appreciate our crew members' professionalism and apologize to our customers for any inconvenience caused," the airline stated.

Earlier this week, an American Airlines flight had a close shave when its rear landing-gear tyres burst and caught fire right before take-off from Tampa, Florida. The pilot managed to hit the brakes and prevent a take-off. The passengers were then evacuated. A video of the incident went viral.

Passenger Exposes Himself, Pees On Plane

An American Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing on Wednesday after a man from Oregon allegedly exposed himself and urinated in the aisle, reported USA Today.

The 25-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with indecent exposure following the incident, which occurred on July 3, according to a press release from the US Attorney's Office for the Western District of New York. If convicted, the man could face up to six months in jail and a $5,000 fine.
