WATCH | Vivek Ramaswamy Reveals Real Reason Behind Leaving DOGE, & It Has Nothing To Do With Musk

Ramaswamy dismissed reports of a fallout with Musk as inaccurate. "I think I wish him well," he said.

Biotech entrepreneur and political figure Vivek Ramaswamy recently dropped hints about his potential candidacy for governor of Ohio during an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters. At 39, Ramaswamy has already made waves in both the corporate and political arenas, and it appears he may soon make an official announcement regarding his foray into state governance.

Why Did Ramaswamy Leave DOGE?

When Watters asked about his decision to leave DOGE, a company closely tied to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the host quipped that Ramaswamy's tenure was equivalent to “three Scaramuccis” — a nod to Anthony Scaramucci’s famously brief 11-day stint as White House Communications Director under Donald Trump.

Laughing off the reference, Ramaswamy confirmed that his focus had shifted to public office.

“Well, the reality is, I'm pursuing an elected office very shortly. We will have an announcement soon,” he shared, hinting strongly at a run for governor in the Buckeye State.

Was There A Fallout With Musk?

Speculation about Ramaswamy's departure had fueled rumors of a clash with Musk, but he dismissed such reports as inaccurate. "I think that's incorrect, but what I would say is, we had different and complementary approaches," he said.

Ramaswamy emphasised that while Musk leaned toward technology-based solutions, he himself had championed legislative approaches to addressing challenges. Despite their differences, Ramaswamy expressed admiration for Musk, calling him the ideal person to lead technological advancements.

When asked directly if he was fired, Ramaswamy clarified that his departure was a mutual decision. "We had a mutual discussion, and I think I wish him well," he noted.

Focus On Ohio's Future

Ramaswamy further fueled speculation about his gubernatorial ambitions by revealing travel plans to Ohio. "I'm headed there Monday night," he said, underscoring his belief that Ohio should become a key destination for Americans seeking better opportunities, much like Florida and Texas have been in recent years.

People are moving to Texas or Florida from New York or California, he noted. "I think places like Ohio should be where they're headed in the next couple of decades."

If he enters the race, Ramaswamy's bid could shake up Ohio's political landscape, given his reputation as a bold thinker with experience in both business and governance.
