Madhav Sheth Quits Realme After 5 Years, May Join Honor

CEO of Realme India, VP, Realme and President, Realme International Business Group Madhav Sheth has officially resigned from the company after five years. He was instrumental in the brand's journey in India. Sheth announced from his official Twitter handle on Wednesday that he was leaving the company. Some reports suggest that Sheth is likely to join handset rival Honor which may restart operations in India.

"Goodbye can be disheartening, but world is too small until we meet again. Farewell for now, but our paths may cross again soon, and that's something to look forward to building a better and bigger me," Sheth announced on Twitter.

This Is What Reddit CEO Said About Subreddit Blackout

Social discussion forum Reddit's CEO Steve Huffman, in an internal memo, has told employees that the subreddit blackout "will pass", says a report by The Verge. Huffman has also asked Reddit staffers to be "mindful of wearing Reddit gear in public" as the company faces a huge protest by thousands of Reddit communities against its policy to implement API pricing changes or charge third-party apps for data access. More than 8,000 Reddit communities, which have millions of subscribers, started protesting against Reddit's new API pricing changes that could kill off third-party apps.

Google's Return-To-Office Crackdown Begins

Google is tightening its stance on the return-to-office requirement, informing employees that their performance reviews will now include tracking their attendance through badges and noting their presence. In a bid to encourage in-person collaboration following the pandemic, the tech giant plans to take a stricter approach towards employees who do not adhere to the three-days-a-week office policy, reported CNBC. Initially adopting a remote work model during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Google later revised its policy, urging employees to work from the office for a minimum of three days each week.

Cabinet To Approve Rs 25,000 Cr Semiconductors PLI Scheme

The Centre is likely to give approval to a list of schemes on Wednesday's Cabinet meeting, including a Rs 25,000-crore scheme for semiconductor manufacturing, the City Bus Augmentation scheme worth Rs 62,000-63,000 crore to boost public transport in 169 cities, and the PM-PRANAM scheme that was announced in Budget 2023. According to media reports, announcements are likely to be made on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a report by ET Now, the Union Cabinet is expected to approve a Rs 25,000-crore scheme for semiconductor manufacturing. In May, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman underlined the government's priority to incentivise and facilitate investments in India through PLI schemes, which are being expanded beyond the initial 14 sectors to include semiconductors and solar components.
