Instagram Threads Search Now Supports All Languages
Instagram Threads is strengthening its competitiveness by extending the keyword search feature to all markets where the app is accessible.
Instagram Threads, in its latest keyword search update, now accommodates all languages, making it a formidable competitor to Elon Musk-owned X (formerly Twitter) social media platform. This has been confirmed by Instagram head Adam Mosseri who stated that keyword search is now "supported in all languages". Mosseri made tha announcement via a Threads post and also invited feedback.
"Today, we’re expanding keyword search everywhere Threads is available. This feature is supported in all languages – we hope this makes it easier to find and join conversations you’re interested in. More improvements are coming to search soon, let me know in the replies if you have feedback 🙏🏼," Mosseri announced in a Threads post.
Threads from Instagram is strengthening its competitiveness by extending the keyword search feature to all markets where the app is accessible.
The ability was initially trialed in English-speaking markets such as Australia and New Zealand in August. It was later expanded to various English and Spanish-speaking countries, including the US in September, says a report by TechCrunch. Instagram head Mosseri has now confirmed that keyword search will be universally supported in all languages.
Meanwhile, recent reports also indicate that Threads is nearing its launch in the European Union (EU). A report by The Wall Street Journal hints at a potential launch as early as next month and speculates on the introduction of a view-only mode, enabling users to read posts without the need to create an account.
Earlier in November, in a bid to address user concerns, Threads introduced a new feature allowing users to delete their Threads profile independently without impacting their associated Instagram account. Users had previously expressed discontent since the platform's July launch due to the inability to remove their presence without deleting their entire Instagram account.
On Threads' settings, users can choose to delete or deactivate their profiles, clicking on a dedicated option to not delete their Instagram account as well.
